While Pierre-Jean Villa’s eponymous domaine only dates back to 2009, his track record in Burgundy and then in his home region of the Rhône has earned him serious respect amongst those in the know. This Saint-Joseph was his first bottling, and it remains the winery’s flagship. It’s classic Northern Rhône syrah, with dark fruit and savory spice balanced by freshness and intense floral aromatics.
Tastes like: Plum, violets, black pepper.
How to drink: Perfect with lamb, but you can’t go wrong with burgers or grilled meats.
