Envínate, 'Benje' Blanco Canary Islands 2018

Envinate is a group of exceptional winemakers rediscovering old vineyards in remote parts of Spain. The four friends met in wine school there, and together, they make wine from a variety of grapes. This wine, 'Benje Blanco,' is from the Canary Islands where the native white grape is listan blanco. This natural wine is special because it tastes a little bit weird, like curry, grapefruit, and smoke. But it's also special because the vines from which the grapes are grown are around 100 years old—and that commands respect.
