Eudes, 'Bianco di Monte' Etna Bianco 2015

$39
Over the past two weeks Mount Etna, the volcano on the Italian island of Sicily, has literally been exploding. The lava eruptions here look so dramatic that it seems like a terrible idea to grow grapes in their vicinity. Despite the risk of complete destruction of the vineyards, it’s in fact a fantastic idea, as the volcanic soils have proven to make some the world’s most age-worthy and delicious white wines. Eudes is an organic producer whose goal is to make a white that is both powerful and refreshing from the grape carricante. It’s most relatable to Burgundy, Chablis, and Loire Valley chenin blanc: all the wines that are ‘exploding’ in price.
