Grongnet, Blanc de Blancs Brut

Great bottles of Blanc de Blancs Champagne are many things: crisp, chalky, and ideal with all foods or no food, just to name a few. A far rarer descriptor: affordable. That’s what makes a bottle like this such a valuable find. This family-run Champagne house has been located at the same address in the heart of Côte des Blancs since the 1880’s. It’s led by Cecile Grongnet, who represents the fifth consecutive generation of the Grongnet family to take the reins. The winemaking methods lead to a wine that’s exceptionally bright and minerally rather than toasty or sweet.

Tastes like: Green apple, jasmine, sea salt, brioche.

How to drink: Fresh out of the fridge with oysters, sushi, or fried chicken.
