Jo Landron is arguably the most important Muscadet winemaker of the last quarter-century. He implemented organics and biodynamics in the vineyard long before it was in vogue, and ages his single-site wines extensively prior to bottling. The result is a range of nuanced, aromatic natural whites that stand out amongst the ocean of steely, simple Muscadet. The ‘Louvetrie’ showcases Jo’s hallmark textural richness, while still retaining the salty briskness that makes these Loire whites so easy-drinking.
Tastes like: Pear, lime zest, sea breeze, brioche.
How to drink: Cold, ideally while dipping french fries into a garlic wine broth with mussels or clams.
