The Languedoc produces a ton of wine. More, in fact, than any other region in France. But frankly, most of it isn’t worth your time. The wines of Jean Laugé are notable exceptions. In the dry, rugged hills of Faugères, Jean organically farms old vines of grape varieties like mourvèdre, grenache, and syrah, which form the blend in this vibrant, full-bodied, savory red wine.
Tastes like: Blueberry, violet, leather, black pepper.
How to drink: Ideal with chicken and chorizo paella, or all things BBQ.
