Oddero, Derthona Timorasso 2021

As recently as the late 80’s, timorasso was on the verge of extinction, with only one acre - less than 500 vines - remaining worldwide. Fast forward to present, and the grape is gaining steam as one of the most exciting white grapes in Italy. Only found in Colli Tortonesi, a small region east of Barolo, it yields wines that are richly textured like chenin and briskly mineral like Chablis. With a benchmark Barolo producer like Oddero adding fuel to the timorasso fire, it’s only a matter of time before this grape gets its well-deserved due.

Tastes like: Apricot, lemon zest, elderflower, smoke.

How to drink: Chilled when you want an outside-the-box alternative to Chablis.
