Rhys was founded in 2004 by a serious collector who sought out sites in California that mirrored Burgundy in everything from climate to hydrology. The result was a series of cool, high-elevation vineyards, including this one in the Santa Cruz Mountains. From the steep and marine-influenced Alpine Vineyard, Rhys makes a deep, mineral, exceptionally finessed pinot.
