Smith-Chapel, Bourgogne Aligoté 2022
This fresh white comes from David Chapel, whose father, Alain Chapel, was one of the most influential chefs in 20th century France, and Michele Smith, formerly a top wine director in NYC. They met while David was working at Lapierre in Beaujolais in 2013, and a few years later, began making their own organic wines nearby. This white wine comes from the Maconnais, a particularly warm area in southern Burgundy, which yields a ripe-fruited, rounded expression of aligoté.
Tastes like: Nectarine, lemon zest, honeysuckle, salted biscuits.
How to drink: Chilled alongside soft cheeses, salty snacks, or a chicken caesar.
