In southern Spain, the Cerdán family makes natural wines that are antithesis to the nondescript, mass-produced juice that the Jumilla region was long known for. They farm monastrell (Spanish for mourvèdre) organically and biodynamically, utilizing the area’s high-elevation vineyard sites to produce a juicy, rich red wine with a remarkable level of freshness and balance considering the near desert-like conditions.
Tastes like: Blackberry, violets, thyme, dark chocolate.
How to drink: Ideal with paella, lamb chops, or all kinds of BBQ.
