Auguste Clape, Cornas 'Renaissance' 2010

Perhaps no marquee wine region on the planet is as synonymous with a single name as Cornas and Auguste Clape. There are a lot of reasons for this, including Auguste serving as the town’s mayor. But it really comes down to the fact that Clape makes some of the best syrah in the Northern Rhône, and thus the world. Clape Cornas is syrah at its most savory, dark-fruited, and traditional. While it can age for decades, ‘Renaissance’ has freshness that makes it approachable young.
