Domaine de la Taille Aux Loups, Montlouis 'Les Hauts de Husseau' 2022

The late, great Jacky Blot belongs in the pantheon of the Loire’s all-time legends. His single-vineyard whites didn’t just open people’s eyes to the little-known village of Montlouis, but they spurred a move towards dry, mineral, complex chenin blanc in general. 'Les Hauts de Husseau' comes from particularly old vines, which grow in shallow soils at a higher altitude than Taille Aux Loups' other holdings. The result is a chiseled, fine-tuned white with a firm backbone that'll allow it to age for a long time ahead.
