While more than 98% of vineyard land in Beaujolais is devoted to gamay, the region also makes rich, textured white wines from chardonnay. The best versions of Beaujolais Blanc come from the region’s south, where the limestone-clay soils resemble those of the Mâconnais in Burgundy.
