While more than 98% of vineyard land in Beaujolais is devoted to gamay, the region also makes rich, textured white wines from chardonnay. The best versions of Beaujolais Blanc come from the region’s south, where the limestone-clay soils resemble those of the Mâconnais in Burgundy. That’s where you’ll find the Dupeuble family, which has been making juicy, floral white wines like this one for more than 500 years.
Tastes like: Ripe peach, smoke, chamomile.
How to drink: Lightly chilled with roast chicken or pan-seared scallops with lemon butter.
