‘Organic’ does really do justice to Patrick Baudouin’s farming practices in the Loire Valley. His meticulousness and passion border on mystical or poetic or just plain inspiring. It translates into highly expressive wines that speak to exactly where they’re from. Like all of his whites, ‘Effusion’ is made exclusively from chenin blanc. It displays the honeyed richness of ripe chenin, as well as the mineral notes of Anjou’s volcanic soils.
Tastes like: Apricot, honeysuckle, marjoram, sea salt
How to drink: Perfect with a cheese board, but similarly well-suited to rich seafood dishes.
