Like Arnot-Roberts, Jolie-Laide, and Raj Parr, Enfield is producing California wines that are fresh and vibrant rather than rich and oaky. The small family operation is run by John Lockwood, who originally launched Enfield in 2010 as a side-project while working at another winery on the Sonoma Coast. He makes this red from cab franc. Like classic versions from the Loire Valley, it’s savory, peppery, and elegant.
Tastes like: Plum, bell pepper, maitake mushrooms.
How to drink: Enjoy with burgers, tacos al pastor, or a cheese board.
