G.D. Vajra, Barbera 'd'Alba' 2021

Vajra is best known for collectible Barolo. The wines are delicious, but they require serious commitment. This barbera is Vajra’s fresher, brighter red meant to be enjoyed right out of the gate. It has barbera’s classic tart fruit and spice notes, along with structure and richness typically reserved for the region’s more ‘serious’ grapes.

Tastes like: Blackberry, violet, sage, white pepper.

How to drink: ‘Pizza wines’ don’t get much better than this, though it’s excellent with charcuterie and chicken parm as well.
