The Hubert Lignier wines from Romain Lignier are some of Burgundy’s all-time greats. His last vintage before tragically passing away was 2004, and the winery experienced a few up-and-down years thereafter. Recent vintages, however, are very much back on track, and Lignier has reclaimed its place among Burgundy’s best.
Over the years, parts of the ‘Les Chaffots’ vineyard have been absorbed into two different Grand Crus, Clos Saint-Denis and Clos de la Roche. Being on the other side of a small path in this instance is the difference of about $500 on the price-tag.
