For the last 40 years, Jean Foillard has shown the world that Beaujolais can be, for lack of a better term, a 'serious' wine. His natural reds are savory and structured, especially bottlings like this one from Morgon, a region known for powerful styles of gamay. ‘Eponym’ is dark and velvety, but still bright and fresh thanks to a particularly high-elevation growing site.
