Based in Sonoma’s Russian River Valley, Kistler has defined California chardonnay for the last 45 years. This high-elevation, volcanic plot is their original planting. In the last decade or so, Kistler has harvested earlier and reduced their use of oak, resulting in wines that are rich and opulent, but balanced by a solid dose of fresh minerality.
Tastes like: Yellow apple, chamomile, vanilla, toast.
How to drink: Lightly chilled with rich seafood dishes, especially lobster in butter sauce.
