Jean-Claude Lapalu is one of the great natural winemakers in Beaujolais. Following in the footsteps of Lapierre, Foillard, and Métras, he helped show the wine scene in Paris (and then the world) what Beaujolais was capable of. Jean-Claude has an abundance of old vines, which gives his wines depth and concentration to go along with gamay’s classic bright fruit and freshness.
Tastes like: Red cherry, black pepper, mushroom, nutmeg.
How to drink: Ideal with charcuterie and cheese, but it’s a versatile chilled red that even works with fish.
