When it comes to Rioja, describing López de Heredia always ends up feeling like emptying out a grab-bag of superlatives – most traditional, most important, most age-worthy – and the list goes on. We’ll save everyone some time and boil it down to this: López is the only Rioja we drink.
Rather than typical rosé, these drink more like lean, spicy, herbal red wines. After aging in barrels for 4 years, the flavors have become decidedly savory. 2012 is a hallmark vintage for this bottling.
