Georges Noëllat is one of the great domaines in Vosne-Romanée. After a few decades that saw Noëllat’s land split up - forming the majority of Domaine Leroy - and its wines sold to Drouhin and Jadot, 20 year-old Maxime Cheurlin took over his family’s estate in 2010. A nephew of Jayer and cousin of Emmanuel Rouget’s sons, Maxime quickly established himself as one of the brightest talents in Burgundy. Corton is a very large Grand Cru with variable quality. Noëllat’s old-vine bottling from the small plot of ‘Les Chaumes’ is one of the very best examples.
