Nebbiolo’s most famous stomping grounds are undoubtedly in Piedmont, where it’s grown in Barolo and Barbaresco. But that’s not the only Italian region where nebbiolo produces great wine. Next door in Lombardy, Nino Negri has been fine-tuning its nebbiolo from cool, alpine vineyards for more than a half-century. Its wine from the high-quality area of Inferno is fresh, spicy, and intensely aromatic.

Tastes like: Wild cherry, mushroom, white pepper.
How to drink: Decant for 30 minutes. Drink with pizza, charcuterie, or truffle risotto.
