Name a marquee wine region, and Pedro Parra has likely consulted for its best producers. From Roulot and Liger Belair to Marco Marengo and Comando G. But his eponymous project isn't based in Burgundy or Barolo. It's located 500 km south of Santiago in Chile. There in his hometown of Concepción, Pedro is the force behind a winemaking movement you could call the ‘New Chile’.
Pedro has a passion for terroir (he literally has his PhD in the field), and he focuses it on the isolated granite soils of southern Chile. Using native grape varieties, he produces fresh, exceptionally drinkable red wines. His 'Hub' bottling is a single-vineyard cinsault. It has cinsault's classic freshness and bright fruit notes, along with a whole lot more structure and savory character than you'd typically get from the grape.
