Roagna, Barbera d'Alba 2017

Roagna is at the top of the quality pyramid in Piemonte. Its wines are unapologetically traditional, with structure and ageability reserved for the region’s best old-school producers. While barbera tends to be relegated to the category of ‘Pizza Wine’, Roagna’s, particularly with a few extra years in bottle, takes on the rich, savory character of Italy’s most serious wines. 

Tastes like: Blackberry, black pepper, balsamic.
How to drink: Charcuterie and salty cheeses, burgers, or of course, pizza.
