While Vietti is best known for its highly-collectible Barolo, it also prides itself on making serious wines from Piedmont’s less esteemed grapes, like freisa. Friesa is inherently bright and easy-drinking, and while that’s the case here, this version also has depth and earthiness typically reserved for the region’s nebbiolo.

Tastes like: Wild blackberry, roses, black pepper.
How to drink: Lightly chilled with charcuterie and cheese, pepperoni pizza, or burgers.
