Alain Graillot, Crozes-Hermitage 2020 Magnum

$110

After working in Burgundy at Dujac and Simon Bize, Graillot set up shop in Crozes-Hermitage in 1985. In short, Graillot put Crozes on the map, producing world-class syrah previously only found in places like Hermitage and Cote-Rotie. Alain’s sons, Maxime and Antoine, have run things for the last 15 years, but the work is as traditionalist as ever. And so is the quality. Dark-fruited, floral, and smoky, this is a case study in classic Northern Rhone syrah. It’s concentrated and deeply savory, yet fresh enough to enjoy today.

Tastes like: Blueberry, violet, black pepper, grilled olive.

How to Drink: Decant and enjoy with lamb chops or your slow-cooked meat of choice.
