After beginning his professional life as a pharmacist, Nicola Manferrari took over a small plot of land from his father in the northeastern corner of Italy in the early ‘80s. Fast forward to present, and his winery, Borgo del Tiglio, is a benchmark in Friuli. Nicola, and now his son, Mattia, use the local friulano grape to make white wines that are simultaneously lithe and deeply textured.

Tastes like: Peach, chamomile, salted almonds.

How to drink: Chilled with salad, salty cheese, or all kinds of fresh seafood.
