The Fontana family has been making wine in Monforte d’Alba for 200 years. Currently run by the wonderful Mario Fontana, the winery releases classically-styled Barolo that requires time to age, as well as this barbera meant to be enjoyed young. While it’s fresh and accessible, Mario’s old vines and traditional winemaking yield a barbera with plenty of depth and finesse.
Tastes like: Strawberry, violet, anise.
How to drink: Enjoy with charcuterie, roasted mushrooms, or chicken parm.
