While now lesser known than the flashy regions of Médoc or Graves, the Côtes de Bourg has been producing wine longer than any other place in Bordeaux. Chateau Falfas, for example, has winemaking roots on the Right Bank dating back to the 1300s. More recently, they were one of Bordeaux’s first producers to employ organics and biodynamics in their vineyards. ‘Les Demoiselles’ is a blend of merlot and cabernet sauvignon, with the plush fruit of the former balanced by the grip and brightness of the latter.
Tastes like: Plum, violets, tobacco leaf, mushrooms.
How to drink: Bordeaux with steak. It never disappoints.
