Corsica is an island caught between France and Italy, both in terms of geography and winemaking. For example, this bright red is a blend of grenache and the local nielluccio grape (a variant of sangiovese). 6th-generation winemaker Thomas Santamaria organically farms both to produce a red wine that tastes simultaneously Tuscan and Provencal.
Tastes like: Plum, tomato leaf, lavender.
How to drink: Lightly chilled with salty cheeses, BBQ ribs, or margherita pizza.
