Forteresse de Berrye, Saumur Blanc 'Les Bourgères' 2023

Forteresse de Berrye is an ancient military fort, which happens to sit on some of the best land for chenin blanc in the Loire Valley. Gilles Colinet saw its potential, and has been reviving both the land and castle since 2019. Bourgères comes from a plot of organic chenin grown in chalky limestone soils, which contribute a crisp, minerally character and notable freshness.

Tastes like: Pear, lemon zest, sea salt, jasmine.

How to drink: Chilled with soft cheeses or rich seafood dishes like pan-seared scallops.
