After spending the ‘90s working in forestry in Quebec, Frantz Saumon returned home to make wine in the Loire Valley across the river from Vouvray. 20 years later, his hand-harvested, old-vine chenin blanc is a benchmark for the village of Montlouis. His ‘Mineral’ cuvée is, as you might expect, intensely minerally. It’s fresh and light, yet structured and highly food-friendly.
Tastes like: Pear, white peach, smoke, salt.
How to drink: Chilled alongside seafood, especially anything from the raw bar.
