G.B. Burlotto, Langhe Sauvignon Blanc 'Dives' 2021

G.B. Burlotto is a Barolo legend. Their single-vineyard bottlings, led by ‘Monvigliero’, are some of Italy’s very best wines. And as you’d imagine, they’re also among the most expensive. Lesser known, but offering arguably more value for the money, are Burlotto’s wines meant for everyday enjoyment. Made from grapes like barbera, dolcetto, and even sauvignon blanc, these are wines we’d open every night, if not for the fact that we only receive tiny quantities each year.

Like the best examples from Sancerre and Friuli, this shows all of sauvignon blanc’s calling cards without being dominated by any note in particular. Citrusy and herbal, yet ripe and deep, this clear proof that Fabio’s skill is not limited to red or local grape varieties.
