In the town of Saumur, Romain Guiberteau farms top plots of cabernet franc to make some of the region’s best red and rosé wines. Like his mentor, Nady Foucault of Clos Rougeard, Romain farms organically, producing deeply savory yet elegant wines. His rosé is crisp and floral, with enough structure and herbal notes to pair perfectly with a margherita pizza.
Tastes like: Strawberry, sea salt, sage, bell pepper.
How to drink: Chilled alongside a caprese salad, margherita pizza, or any other dish involving fresh basil.
