Jean Foillard, Beaujolais-Villages 2022
Jean Foillard is a legendary figure in Beaujolais. Like the other members of Kermit Lynch's 'Gang of Four' - Marcel Lapierre, Jean-Paul Thévenet, and Guy Breton - Foillard was both a Beaujolais benchmark and a luminary in the natural wine movement. His Beaujolais-Villages, which is made with organic grapes from just outside Foillard's hometown of Morgon, is silky, floral, and refreshing. It's a phenomenal value, and the perfect chilled red.
Tastes like: Red cherry, violets, black pepper, thyme.
How to drink: Chilled with cheese and charcuterie, or anything on the grill at a summer BBQ.
