Julian Haart, Weissburgunder 2021

$45
Before launching his own winery in 2010, Julian Haart studied under Klaus Peter Keller and Egon Müller. For reference, that’s like bouncing between guitar lessons with Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton. While Julian is best known for his classically pure, precise riesling, he makes this new bottling in a different style entirely. Julian uses a grape called weissburgunder (German for pinot blanc) to make an orange wine that’s tart and salty like chenin blanc, with a cloudy and spicy character that’ll land with fans of natural wine.
