Jean-Claude Lapalu is one of the great natural winemakers in Beaujolais. Following in the footsteps of Lapierre, Foillard, and Métras, he helped show the wine scene in Paris (and then the world) what Beaujolais was capable of. Based in the area of Brouilly, Jean-Claude has an abundance of old vines, which give his Beaujolais structure and complexity to go along with gamay’s classic bright fruit and floral aromatics.
Tastes like: Black cherry, violets, white pepper.
How to drink: A versatile chilled red that works with cheese and charcuterie or even grilled fish.
