While Gonet is not a new name in Champagne - the family’s roots there date back to the 1400s - Marco Pelletier’s involvement is a more recent phenomenon. Marco is one of the world’s best sommeliers, as well as a winemaker in Bordeaux and the owner of Vantre in Paris. Marco, in collaboration with Raj Parr, makes this bottling from an old-vine plot in pure chalk soils, before fermenting it in barrels from Jean-Marc Roulot. Okay, no more name dropping.
