While Portugal’s Douro Valley has long been associated with dessert wine and inky reds, the region’s reputation is in the midst of an overhaul thanks to winemakers like Luis Seabra and Pedro Coehlo. Coelho, who was originally mentored by Seabra at Pormenor, farms native grape varieties at high elevations to make this white wine that’s fresh, textured, and mineral-driven.
Tastes like: Yellow apple, lemon zest, sea salt.
How to drink: Chilled with herb-roasted chicken or all types of seafood.
