Scythian Wine Co., Cucamonga Valley 'Revolution' 2022
Scythians is a new venture from Raj Parr, one of America’s top sommeliers and natural winemakers. Raj is prolific, with multiple projects across California and Oregon. Scythians, however, is unique. Located in Los Angeles, the focus is on restoring old, heritage vineyards and highlighting the grape varieties that once thrived here in Southern California. For the ‘Revolution’ bottling, that means 110 year-old vines of zinfandel and palomino, which yield small quantities of a juicy, peppery red wine.
Tastes like: Cranberry, white pepper, salty black licorice.
How to drink: Lightly chilled with burgers and ribs, or eggplant parm.
