Serafino Rivella is Barbaresco’s most boutique producer. Everything at the winery is done by Teobaldo Rivella and his wife, Maria, who only farm one vineyard. That vineyard happens to be Montestefano, one of the greatest plots in all of Piedmont. From hand-harvested old vines on that legendary vineyard, they make tiny quantities of only two wines - a dolcetto and this Barbaresco. They use methods typically reserved for Barolo, leading to a savory and structured wine with as much depth and ageability as any Barbaresco out there.
Tastes like: Strawberry, leather, rosewater, sage.
How to drink: Decant for at least an hour, and enjoy with braised meats or rich pastas.
