Teobaldo Rivella and his wife, Maria, make just two wines from one vineyard in Barbaresco. That vineyard, however, happens to be Montestefano, home to some of the greatest dirt in all of Piedmont, and their red wines are as compelling as they are scarce. Rivella is an old-school producer, but while their nebbiolo has density and a deeply savory quality, it’s also fresh, silky, and refined. In other words, it’s absolutely delicious.
