If producers like Yvon Metras and Jean Foillard are the trailblazers of the natural wine movement in Beaujolais, then the torch has now been passed to Yann Bertrand. Born in Fleurie and mentored by Metras, Bertrand utilizes a crop of old vines, which he farms biodynamically, to make a delicate, aromatic style of Beaujolais.
While Yann is based in Fleurie, this comes from very old vines in Morgon. This is a bit more dark and savory than the ‘Folie’, but still crisp and peppery.
