Until recently, Camille Thiriet made wine in a garage in Burgundy that had no electricity or running water. In other words, ‘artisanal’ didn’t really do it justice. While her production is still limited, she and her partner, Matt Chittick, have expanded their operation in the Côte de Nuits. ‘Le Clos de Magny’ is a new bottling from their recent acquisition of land in Corgoloin. It's dark and rich in a way that's deeply earthy rather than oaky.
