The inimitable Dr. Ulli Stein is one of the most staunch advocates and celebrated champions of the Mosel region in Germany. On slate slopes so steep that most other winemakers abandoned them decades ago, Stein makes a range of electric, ultra-expressive wines. This dry riesling is pure, brisk, and mineral, with 70+ year-old vines adding particular definition.
