Envínate, Lousas 'Parcela Seoane' 2021
If you’re not familiar, Envínate is arguably the most exciting producer in Spain. And if you are, then know that these wines are as good as any reds they’ve ever released. They’re all made naturally in the remote (absolutely gorgeous) region of Ribeira Sacra in Galicia. These are savory, spicy red wines that are wildly undervalued considering the quality.
Single-parcel wines represent the top of the Envínate hierarchy. This one comes from a plot of century-old mencia vines grown in pure slate. It’s the most concentrated and powerfully structured wine in this lineup.
