For 30 years, Pierre Morey ran things at Domaine Leflaive, continuously releasing White Burgundy that earned him serious consideration as one of the century’s greatest white winemakers. After leaving Leflaive in 2008, Pierre focused his attention on his family’s winery in the heart of Meursault. Now run by his daughter, Anne, the domaine’s style is clean and pure, with an underlying richness that never feels overtly oaky. Pierre Morey’s Bourgogne Blanc is Meursault in all but name, making it an incredible value.
Tastes like: Ripe pear, chamomile, beeswax, sea salt.
How to drink: Not too cold alongside hamachi crudo, soft cheeses, or roast chicken.
