There are certain vintages we don't see much of. Either the weather conditions that year didn't allow for the vines to produce ample quantity, or on their release they weren't considered to be very good, so they didn't get any hype. Over time, they just get lost in the feed. 1987 was low in quantity due to rain and cool weather. It also preceded the three best consecutive years in Barolo ever– 1988-1990 are all icons. For this reason, it has remained cheap despite being good quality. For this reason, it's on this email.
