Chenin Blanc is the current grape everyone is excited about. It’s having the moment Riesling had 10 years ago. We believe it has a greater purpose though. Chenin is based in the Loire Valley where Sancerre is too. The grape is always salty, crisp and sometimes a bit funky. Chenin is seen on labels as Saumur, Anjou, and Vouvray. The best ones right now are from Saumur and Anjou. It’s a great wine that is a good substitute for White Burgundy and Chablis.
Chenin Blanc should always be: salty, not brown in color, and served not too cold.
